Twas the night before Christmas

We made it! Work is done, shops are shut, I couldn’t do anything more if I wanted to. My chocolate gingerbread cheesecake is in the oven (and smells divine! recipe here):

I risked cake crackage for this photo

the blinis for tonight are done:

Wish I hadn’t left the dill in the fridge at work

And now I’m sitting on the couch, listening to Michael Buble (not even ashamed) and drinking a glass of sparkling wine from one of the coupe glasses I bought from the op-shop this week:

And the delightful thing is that my wonderful friends and family have been so concerned about me being in Kalgoorlie and alone on Christmas morning, that as a result there are a ridiculous number of presents under the tree with my name on them. I don’t think I’ve had so many in my adult life. My Mum even sent the stocking I’ve had since I was two so I wouldn’t miss out. Bless.

I need to go and get dolled up for a cocktail party tonight at Lauren and Dave’s house, the black strapless Natasha Gan LBD I bought in Seminyak is having its maiden voyage. I hope you have a wonderful and safe Christmas, and enjoy lots of good food with people you love. To all the people I love who I won’t see this year, I miss you and hope you’re all well and I will see you next year!
