Where do I start?!
Welcome!
My Name is Bec, I’m a 30-something travel enthusiast from Melbourne, Australia. I work in media. I like to take photos, explore islands, bake, wander bustling lane ways, eat cheese, drink champagne (or sparkling wine, lets be honest), sing poorly and dance flamboyantly. I hate harsh lighting, wind and people who chop your feet off in photos.
I started this blog in Melbourne in 2011 after returning from studying abroad at the University of Vienna. While I was there I would often think ‘I should start a blog…’ before getting distracted by Viennese castles, pastries, opera and underground nightclubs.
When I got home I had all the time in the world to blog, but apparently nothing worth blogging about. Wrong! I decided to make every day ‘bloggable’ or worthy of a blog post. Hence My Bloggable Day was born.
This blog has taken many forms over the years, most recently it’s been a travel diary documenting a 16 month world trip my boyfriend Andy and I embarked upon. Before that it documented my life in a remote, dusty mining town 6 hours from the nearest city and 4 hours from the nearest beach. Nowadays I’m back in Melbourne, finding my city feet again, so it’s all about that.
If you’re just starting out here, some blog posts to get to know me are:

Thank you very much! Of course I’m not annoyed 🙂 I’ll head over and check it out. Cheers Jillian.
Travel indefinitely? woowww that’s something. Awesome!
Thanks! Tomorrow marks 11 weeks on the road, we are currently in Salt Lake City. Heading to southern Utah after Colorado and although I’ve been before (and loved it!) I didn’t know about The Wave. I was just reading about it on your blog! I will definitely go in the lottery for a permit, thanks for the idea.
Yes you should try. 😊 you are welcome! Even if you don’t get the permit for north Coyote Buttes, you can also try for the permit for South Coyote Buttes. It’s not as much as like the Wave, but beautiful! Also there is the White Pocket, that doesn’t need a permit. Enjoy your time! 👍🏻
Sounds like you have had a great year Becca! I am excited to see where the world takes you! Thanks for stopping by our blog – all the best, Lucy of Just Our Passports.com

Such an interesting story! It’s admirable that you both quit your jobs and packed up your lives, I can’t imagine that to be anything but a dream. I quit a steady, stable job to force me to pursue my dreams a year ago, and even though it involves working, it’s the best kind of work and I’ve never looked back on taking that giant leap. Looking forward to following all of your adventures, I’m totally up for living vicariously through them!
Glad to have you along for the trip! Quitting the ‘norm’ like the stability of a steady job to follow your dreams, whatever they may be, is always courageous and admirable I think! Well done to us! As conceited as that might sound 😂
I’ll take it! 😂
Hi Bec! Happy to have found your blog! I love the layout, the style, the content…everything!! I’m a travel lover too so following you will definitely be interesting! I’ve already read some of your posts and we really have many similar aspects! Looking forward to reading more! 🙂

My pleasure! 🙂
