Feeling Blue? Some blue DIY inspiration

Going back to school or work after a long weekend is akin to squeezing lemon juice into paper cuts. Painful. Here are some blue DIYs to help tackle the back-to-reality blues.

What can you buy for $10?

Lunch? Vogue? Take a taxi 100 metres? For $10 I bought a denim dress from Kmart which I feel will become a vital addition to my suitcase when I hit up European spring (in about a month). It can be worn multiple ways and I won’t cry if I have to throw it out to make room for new purchases.

What can’t you wear a trench coat with?

Or a leather jacket for that matter?

Sparkles. Enough said.

Rumors I’ve heard about Anna Wintour

Have you heard of The Hairpin? It’s where gems like the illustrations below are found. But I first saw them on The Nautical Wheeler, another excellent blog I’ve just discovered that you should check out.

The last one is my favourite. See more here.

Neon & Neutral. Again.

Once again, Asos have me covered. ASOS Canvas Contrast Handle Shopper (left) $35.68 & ASOS Frosted Colour Block Shopper (right) $51.90. Delicious.

lane ways & trench coats

I love autumn. And coloured jeans. And wearing sunglasses the day after a big night out.

This happened.

I finally caved and bought the neon yellow Cambridge Satchel Company satchel I’ve been eyeing-off for months. You can’t see it in the photo, but it is retina-burning acid neon. I doubt I’ve ever seen anything as beautiful in my life.

An Ode to Pancakes

Pancakes have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. At best they’ll be topped with bacon and maple syrup, but I’ll happily have lemon and sugar or nutella. Or even plain. So versatile. I’m going to try these puffed pancakes one day.

As you can see Dukan is going really well.

CO. By Cotton On

When I was contacted by Cotton On PR and encouraged to check out the CO by Cotton On look book I was sceptical (in a good way!). Having cast a discerning eye over the new collection I daresay I will be making a few purchases.

Monochrome with colour accents suits me to a tee. And the fact that CO is available exclusively online is perfect for my current location (in the middle of nowhere). Given my impending travel plans the price point is also a bonus. The white shirt, pink shorts, black and white peplum top, grey pencil skirt and the magenta fedora need be in my closet right now.

Don’t believe your eyes? Click ‘pencil skirt’ to see more.

Change, as good as a holiday?

Perhaps not, but it’s always fun to cut off a big chunk of hair. Feels like spring cleaning (speaking of cleaning, my bathroom mirror clearly needs a bit of love).

I believe this style is known as a ‘lob’ or a long-bob. Pretty low maintenance. And worn by my girl crush below. Perfect.
