On Saturday evening I married my housemate and bestie Bec in a small, intimate backyard wedding. My bridesmaids wore red. Kidding! But doesn’t it look like that’s what’s happening in this photo:
It really does! Anyway, Saturday night was the annual Goldfields Children Charity Ball aka the biggest event on Kalgoorlie’s illustrious social calendar. So we got frocked up:
I applied some hand bling from Lovisa that broke twice before the night got started, an ultimate lesson of ‘you get what you paid for’.
We had pre drinks at Sarah’s house this year. Sarah is in the red dress in the middle.
Bec’s actual date was her boyfriend Scott, not me.
Jordan and Maitlin made the trip from Perth.
And I got captured in some unflattering photos.
The theme for this year’s ball was ‘Glisten’ which I accurately guessed was a nod to Frozen. Every second year the ball goes all out with a fun theme (remember last year was Willy Wonka?) and every other year it’s a classy, more understated theme.
It was nice, very blue.
At some point during the evening I started to talk to Bec and Jordan about my impending farewell party and all the good times and what I should mention in my speech. Bad idea! It made me very sad.
Dinner was far superior to entree. You can’t really go wrong with eye fillet now, can you?
After dinner we checked out some silent auction items.
Time to hit the dance floor! Bec grabbed my hand and we were the first up there. SO great.
Some dessert to refuel.
After this the photos (and videos!) take a slight downward turn.
Such a great night. I’m so glad I got to go to the ball one last time…
You look stunning. Could your jewellery be any more on point!
Thanks Megan!
you look gorgeous! love your dress
