Hello friends and foes!
I have loved the musical Chicago for as long as I can remember. I love the movie. I loved the time I saw on Broadway. I love the city. I love the costumes. The music. The songs. The story and everything about the roaring twenties.
So it’s only natural that when I found out the Goldfields Repertory Club were putting on Chicago, I would go and audition. And I did. And opening night is tomorrow! I play Mona, loveable jailbird who plugs her boyfriend for jazzin’ around. He had it coming.
I have a new found respect for the ladies of the 1920s. Those hairstyles require a serious amount of effort (and enough hairspray to make a sizeable dent in the ozone layer). Here are a few of my attempts:
Seen enough of my face?! I bet you have. These styles look reasonable in the before photos, but after a bit of shaking around on stage they look like a hot mess. Gravity is a problem when tucking one’s hair into a bob.
Anyway, wish me luck! I’ll be back soon with tales of my travels x
Wow that’s so exciting! I wish I could see you on stage. So that’s why you’ve had such FABULOUS ’20s hair in all your Instagram shots. You look amazing. You’ve got the face of a 1920s doll. Absolutely GORGEOUS xxx
