Fact: we have stayed in 22 hostels on this trip. Some observations.
When the free breakfast includes more than stale bread and jam:
But breakfast finishes at 9am:
When someone gets back from a night out and switches on the dorm room light:
When someone pulls out a guitar and starts singing in the common area:
When someone who should have stopped staying in hostels 20 years ago corners you and begins their life story:
When someone starts telling you they are a traveller, not a tourist:
When you stay in a 10+ bed dorm:
When you fork out for a private room instead of a dorm:
When your dorm bed is right next to a power point:
When you accidentally touch any surface in the shared bathroom:
Especially if there are hairs in the sink:
When you dry your hands on the communal hand towel:
When you forget to take your flip flops (thongs if you’re Australian) to the shower and are already naked when you realise:
When the hostel bar has a tab system and your get your bill:
When you’re hungover and check-out is at 10am:

Hahahahaha I LOVE THIS!!! You’re my hero, I just don’t think I could do hostels… a shitty 1 star hotel room is fine, but I hate sharing my space!
Yeah it’s getting a tad old… We make sure we get a private room every so often! The other night we stayed in a hotel, didn’t have to wear thongs in the bathroom! Bliss.
ha-ha OMG this is classic. I have luckily managed to avoid having to stay in a Hostel but this is exactly how I imagined them to be. The pictures perfectly suit the scenarios as well.

Haha I naively assumed that all young travellers stay in hostels?! Don’t get me wrong, they are SO much fun and the best way to meet people. But they sure can be gross!
Haha I’m more of a five star hotel girl and have never tried a hostel but this still made me laugh. My sister uses them all the time so I’ll have to send her this link! x

Hahahah this is too accurate! I absolutely love staying in hostels and can easily put up with all of these things.. but seriously the things we do to save money when travelling sometimes!
I know! We have spent the last 4 nights in a private room and are about to move to a dorm, kill me!
