In my very brief years as a child/teen model I learnt two things: firstly, fashion involves a lot of mind-numbingly boring waiting around and secondly, having other people apply your mascara just feels wrong. Sadly, I didn’t quite make it to Kate Moss style fame or become known for a thinspirational quote like “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels” (which is outrageously untrue anyway).
When my friends at Fossick kindly invited me to be part of their fashion show I worried that in an attempt to swan graciously on the catwalk I would fall flat on my ‘washed-up-never-was-really-a-model’ ass. Not unlike Carrie when she falls over on the NY Style catwalk in a D & G trench coat and sparkly undies and is quickly mowed down by Heidi Klum.
I’m still kind of nervous that might happen (only without Heidi Klum) however seeing as the front row will be comprised of mostly my friends and other smiling faces, it’s a risk worth taking. Also, I will be wearing a lovely vintage style Petra Vanessie dress, so at least I’ll look good.
These photos of the lovely Sophie and I were taken recently when we tried on the dresses for the first time. I was wearing mine for a good half hour before someone else pointed out it was the dress on the event flier?! Need to work on my observation skills…
